Embark on a Colony in Space. Build a base to ensure your colonists survive. Explore, mine resources, craft items, and thrive in a realistic atmospheric and electrical simulation. Watch out for potential dangers before it’s too late!
Embark on a one-way journey to a distant planet, where your mission is to establish and thrive in a small colony. Returning to Earth is not an option. The rich resources in the region offer a promising start, and with your colonists, you've already begun to explore and mine.
Utilize various resources to establish and grow your colony. Mine ores from rocks on the planet's surface or extract them from deeper within using a deep mining machine. Craft construction items, machinery, and components essential for building and maintaining your colony. Find water in the form of ice that can be melted to provide water for your colonists and plants. Construct a small outpost to kickstart your operations, and process vital resources while exploring the terrain. Uncover remnants of previous missions for potential advancements as you expand your base.
Your colonists can't rely forever on their oxygen canisters. Pressurize your base and maintain a breathable atmosphere to sustain life. Work without the burden of a spacesuit, but beware of rising temperatures and CO2 levels, which pose latent threats. Establish a greenhouse, plant crops, and harvest food to keep colonists fed and generate oxygen crucial for survival. Create a pressurized environment using pipes, vents, filters, and pumps. Achieve the right balance of base temperature, pressure, and oxygen levels.
Mars and the Moon present unique challenges. Mars has a thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide, allowing players to utilize it through a greenhouse. The Moon's proximity to Earth facilitates easier commerce but features a long day-night cycle of 28 Earth days, requiring careful energy planning.
Danger is everywhere. Stay alert for warning signs. Maintenance is crucial, as devices with low reliability can explode, potentially damaging parts of the base and causing oxygen loss. As the base grows in complexity, it becomes more hazardous for the colony. The game's adaptive difficulty ensures a challenging experience, with an AI introducing both positive and negative events to test your decisions.
Too Far Too Late provides a sandbox experience with freedom to interact with various interconnected systems. Engage in building bases, mining resources, crafting items, growing plants, managing atmospheres, and exploring different planets. The game's advanced atmospheric and fluid simulation adds realism, requiring careful management of your base's atmosphere. Expand your colony across the solar system and develop it in your unique way.
