Summer Game Fest is the biggest annual digital video game showcase of the summer, often described as the spiritual successor to E3.
Created and hosted by renowned game journalist Geoff Keighley, Summer Game Fest launched in 2020 as a new way for the industry to deliver fresh game announcements, trailers, gameplay reveals, and updates directly to fans worldwide. All of it is streamed live and for free.
It brings together major publishers, indie developers, and creators for a multi day celebration of gaming. This features everything from big AAA world premieres to smaller passion projects.
Main Show: Friday, June 5, 2026, live from the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles (2pm PT / 5pm ET / 9pm GMT). Co-hosted by Geoff Keighley and Lucy James.
Runs over the weekend (June 5-8), with additional publisher streams, indie showcases (like The Mix, Wholesome Games, etc.), and special events.
Expect world premieres, first looks at upcoming titles, surprise announcements, celebrity guests, and in person audience energy.
It has become the go-to mid-year gaming event where developers show off what is next across all platforms: PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo, mobile, and beyond. If you love hype trailers, surprise reveals, and gaming news, this is peak summer entertainment.
