After "KOF '98", often praised by the fans as the best installment in the "KOF" series, and "KOF '98 UM" 10 years later, "KOF '98" returns now on the Steam PC gaming platform in an ultimate and final version.
Super smooth fighting online awaits. The game implements rollback netcode to make online fights even smoother, and features spectating modes and lobbies that can hold up to nine players.
A gorgeous roster of 64 fighters. In addition to the original "KOF '98" roster, emblematic KOF characters such as Eiji Kisaragi, Kasumi Todoh, Geese Howard, Mr. Big, and Wolfgang Krauser join this ultimate tournament. This final edition offers alternate versions for some characters, providing infinite team possibilities.
A thorough overhaul of game balance with readjustment of every character's moves. The newly added "Ultimate Mode" allows you to combine features of the original "Extra" and "Advanced" game modes to create your own. Both classic modes have been thoroughly rebalanced for wider variety in battle strategies.
Features several game modes including "Endless Mode" (take on CPU-controlled characters in a series of battles), "Challenge Mode" (attempt and clear 30 missions), and "Practice Mode" (train using all types of moves and combos). Two online features are available: "Rank Match" (where battle results are reflected) and "Player Match" (where you can set versus battle settings to your liking).
The original NEOGEO version of "KOF '98" has been faithfully ported and is included.
The OST boasts 63 fantastic tracks from the original NEOGEO "KOF '98" and those added in "KOF '98 ULTIMATE MATCH", remastered by the SNK Sound Team.
