Shipwrecked 64

What is this?

Shipwrecked (or Shipwrecked 64 as the internet has dubbed it) was an old game originating from the late 1990s, commissioned by the (at-the-time) beloved Broadside Animation Studio and developed by Cogware Games.

The game had a mysterious nature surrounding its launch, available only from August 13-17, 1997, with little promotion. This version is a recovered dump of an original cartridge, converted to new software with help from two of the original developers.

Story

Bucky and his friends need your help! After a sudden crash during a routine fishing trip, Bucky ends up on a mysterious island, where his friends appear to be apprehended by a pack of wolves for disturbing the peace. Embark on a puzzle-based adventure as Bucky wanders the vast island of Nulla Terra, helping his friends work off the damages, fix your boat, and get back home.

Gameplay Features

• Two modes: a 2023 mode (fixed, safer version) and 1997 mode (unstable, original version)
• Multiple layers, endings, and areas to explore
• Controlled Decay: levels slowly break depending on player actions
• Exploration-based gameplay requiring out-of-the-box thinking
• A strange, surreal, and dark story that jumps between the real world and the game's world

Note

While portraying itself as an authentic product, Shipwrecked 64 is a work of fiction. Some scenes are graphic and violent in nature. The game functions as an ARG requiring community effort, with answers found both in-game and outside of it.
