Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 is a story-driven RTS that relives some of the bloodiest battles of "The Great War". The missions include some of the most fearsome weaponry employed of the period. Sabotage, stealth, trench warfare, gas attacks, artillery and mobile infantry - BoE has it all!
The full version includes 6 storyline campaigns with developers continuing to craft new ones. Each campaign reveals particular combat features of the Great War and the combat paths of each participating country. Campaigns can be played solo or in cooperative mode (up to 4 players). Experienced players can join multiplayer battles with 6 playable nations and various game modes. Several multiplayer historical reconstructions of major First and Second World War battles are also available.
Gameplay is similar to other Men of War-based titles, with the ability to control your men at divisional, squad, and soldier levels. The basis of gameplay is management of your infantry squads, organization of their cooperation, and skillful use of provided vehicles. You will solve complex tactical problems with different possible outcomes that can change the course of missions. Game environment can be used to your advantage - all objects can be destroyed to create paths for infantry or used as cover from enemy fire.
Realism: The game recreates battles of the First World War as realistically as possible. Each unit has a personal inventory and weapons, vehicle damage is calculated by armor thickness and inclination, and guns differ in calibers and available shell types.
Authenticity: Uniforms and vehicles are based on sketches and drawings from World War I. Game maps are based on real locations of hostilities. Gas attacks, shrapnel shells, horses, first tanks, flamethrowers, and many other First World War features are implemented.
Tactics: Complex tactical problems require skillful management and strategic thinking.
